Build Details
When the Eunoia first came out, it looked flashy and was fun to use in casual gameplay. But once you jumped into endgame content, like dungeons, raids, or high-level missions, it fell short.
That’s changed in the Ash and Iron update. Eunoia has gotten some big upgrades that finally make it a real option for tough activities.
What Changed with Eunoia
Eunoia comes with the Consul’s Pitch intrinsic perk, which makes its Hellion projectiles deal more damage the farther they travel.
These projectiles now split into 4 pieces.
Each piece can apply Scorch and cause Ignitions.
With the recent update:
Damage is up by 20%.
Projectiles reach max damage faster.
Tracking was improved by 40%. That means they actually hit enemies instead of flying off into random spots.
In the near future, Warlock “buddies” like Hellions will scale with your grenade stat, making them even stronger. When that happens, Eunoia will get another big boost.
Where Eunoia Fits In
It’s not going to replace top-tier Exotics like Sunbracers, Getaway Artist, or Starfire Protocol. But Eunoia is now consistent enough to be worth running, especially if you like a different playstyle.
It works fine with the Solar subclass thanks to things like Ember of Ashes and Ember of Char, but Eunoia really shines with the Prismatic subclass.
Why Prismatic is Best
Prismatic lets you combine Hellion turrets with Bleak Watcher turrets.
Bleak Watcher slows and freezes enemies.
Frozen enemies shatter, making Hellions even stronger.
This setup trades Feed the Void (Devour) for more utility. Instead of Devour, you can heal and regen health with:
Buried Bloodline exotic sidearm (gives Devour).
Healing Grenades for instant health.
Phoenix Dive to heal you and your team.
Key Stats to Focus On
To maximize Hellions, focus on Class Ability Energy and Grenade Energy.
At 100 Class Ability, any bonus regen gets a +190% boost.
At 100 Grenade, you’ll see similar boosts to grenade uptime.
Once Hellion damage scales with grenade stats, pushing to 200 Grenade could give Hellions a 65% damage increase.
Artifact Mods & Abilities
Cauterized Darkness: 30% more Solar damage against weakened enemies (not bosses).
Arcane Needles: Sever enemies (cutting their damage by 40%) and unravel them for extra damage over time.
Strong Fragment Picks
Facet of Ruin → Bigger ignitions & shatters = more explosions.
Facet of Hope → Faster Class Ability regen when buffs are active.
Facet of Courage → Bonus Light damage when enemies are debuffed by Stasis or Strand.
Facet of Awakening → Creates Firesprites, Tangles, and Shards for ability energy.
These fragments keep your Hellions active, your survivability up, and your team supported.
Best Weapon Choices
You can use almost anything, but here are some standouts:
Solar weapons with Heal Clip, Incandescent, or Burning Ambition.
Strategist trait for more Class Energy.
Demolitionist trait for more grenade energy.
Top Exotic picks:
Solar: Sunshot, Tommy’s Matchbook, Dragon’s Breath, Finality’s Auger.
Strand/Stasis: The Navigator, Conditional Finality, Ager’s Scepter, Final Warning, New Malipas.
Legendary weapons with Chill Clip, Headstone, Slice, or Tear also fit well.
Final Thoughts
The Eunoia is no longer just a flashy toy — it’s finally strong enough to be taken seriously. It may not outshine the absolute best Exotics, but it’s consistent, versatile, and gives Hellion turrets a chance to shine.
If you haven’t tried it since Ash and Iron, now’s the perfect time to give it a shot.
Step 1: Consume Grenade for Bleakwatcher Step 2: Activate Class Ability for Hellion Step 3: Use Arcane Needle to Unravel Step 4: Follow up with Solar Weapons Step 5: Activate Bleakwatcher as often as possible Step 6: If LOW ON HEALTH use Healing Grenade or Phoenix Dive. Step 7: Cast Prismatic when ready (Create Turrets Before casting) Step 8: Use Super against High Value Targets/Bosses (Create Turrets Before casting)
