Destiny 2 Warlock BuildThe ULTIMATE Chromatic Fire Prismatic Warlock!
PvEWhile aiming down sights with a fully drawn Bow, combatants behind walls are highlighted and arrows pierce shields. Strong against [Shield-Piercing] Barrier Champions.
Final blows from Kinetic weapons create an explosion in the element of your equipped Super that deals damage and applies a matching elemental effect: • [Arc] Blinds targets. • [Solar] Scorches targets. • [Void] Weakens targets. • [Stasis] Slows targets. • [Strand] Severs targets. Elemental final blows temporarily increase the explosion's size. Precision final blows always maximum the explosion's size.

Build Details
Today we’re looking at a build that most players sleep on. It uses an exotic that recently got a ton of buffs—and while it looks goofy, it’s insanely strong right now.
With all the exotic reworks, new artifact mods, and the new armor sets, Chromatic Fire has climbed way higher on the exotic tier list. Even with all the powerful “buddy” builds in the game, this thing absolutely slaps.
Chromatic Fire is agnostic, meaning it works with any subclass. The effect it gives you changes based on whatever Super element you’re using.
Unlike a lot of the popular builds right now, this setup is focused on weapons, not abilities. It’s not meant for boss DPS, but if you’re clearing regular enemies—especially in things like Onslaught and other portal modes—it’s perfect.
How Chromatic Fire Works
Its intrinsic perk, Crystalline Transistor, activates when you defeat enemies with true kinetic weapons (so not Strand or Stasis).
Every time you get a kill with a kinetic weapon, you trigger an elemental explosion based on your Super’s element. That explosion also applies a matching debuff:
Arc → Blind
Solar → Scorch
Stasis → Slow
Strand → Sever
Void → Weakening (15% damage debuff)
As you keep chaining kinetic kills, the explosion radius gets bigger, hitting more enemies with those debuffs.
The Weapon Pairing: Wish-Ender
There are a lot of good weapons you can pair with Chromatic Fire, but today we’re going with Wish-Ender.
It’s not as busted as it used to be, but it’s still solid—especially in the current sandbox.
Here’s why it works so well:
Shots overpenetrate and hit twice
Stuns Barrier Champions
Deals 10% bonus damage to Taken enemies
Works even better with TechSec armor
With the TechSec set, you get:
200% bonus damage to enemy shields
Concussive explosions when you kill powerful enemies or break shields
Those explosions temporarily take enemies out of combat
Since Chromatic Fire weakens enemies, those explosions and follow-up shots make clearing enemies super easy.
We’re also speccing into our weapon stat so Wish-Ender can gain up to 15% bonus damage against rank-and-file enemies and bosses once we hit 200. That boost applies to special and heavy weapons too, plus it increases how much ammo we generate.
Why Run This on Prismatic?
Because Prismatic lets us stack key buffs:
Radiance for weapon damage
Devour for constant healing and grenade energy
Transcendence, which we can build fast
Sever, cutting enemy damage by 40%
Feed the Void gives us Devour. We can trigger it with abilities or elemental explosions from Chromatic Fire.
Once Devour is active, every final blow heals us and gives grenade energy.
For our second aspect, we’re using Weaver’s Call. Casting our Rift will create Threadlings, and our grenade adds even more. Thanks to the Pack Tactics mod, those Threadlings get bonus damage.
Prismatic Fragments
Here’s what we’re running:
Facet of Dawn – Arcane Needle unravels enemies and gives Radiance (20% weapon damage for 5 seconds). With 3 charges and Transcendence regen, we’ll trigger this often.
Facet of Grace – Killing enemies with Wish-Ender grants Transcendence energy.
Facet of Purpose – Picking up orbs gives us an elemental buff. With a Void Super, we get a Void Overshield (70% damage resistance).
Facet of Hope – More class ability regen when we have buffs like Radiance, Devour, or Overshield. 40% regen with one buff, 60% with two.
Facet of Solitude – Precision hits cause bursts of Sever on nearby enemies.
Rifts give us Empowering damage boosts, faster class ability uptime, and more Threadlings.
What This Build Gives You
We’re stacking all of this:
Arcane Needle for 20% damage and Unravel
Chromatic Fire explosions for weaken, sever, concuss, and blind effects
Threadlings for bonus add-clear damage
Empowering Rift for even more weapon damage
Radiance, Devour, and Overshields for survivability and damage buffs
No matter what portal activities throw at you, you’ll have the tools to handle it.
Chromatic Fire might look like a meme exotic, but it’s seriously strong right now. If you’ve been sleeping on it—it’s time to start using it.
Step 1: Point Step 2: Aim Step 3: Shoot! Step 4: Use Powered Melee to trigger Radiance/ Unravel before using weapons Step 5: Cast Rift to Create Threadlings and Provide Bonus Weapon Dmg Step 6: Grenades/ Transcendency/ Super are just added damage... use when you can
