Destiny 2 Hunter BuildThe Ties Between
PvEThis weapon emits a powerful impulse that pushes targets away, suppresses their abilities, and makes them more vulnerable to all incoming damage. Strong against [Disruption] Overload Champions.
Improves sprint, slide, and airborne effectiveness while a Hand Cannon is equipped. For a short time after being drawn, Hand Cannons ready faster, are more accurate, and each hit against a combatant increases Hand Cannon damage.
Build Details
This build packs enough knife slashing for Rob Zombie and enough explosions for Michael Bay with on demand invisibility.
The core of how it works:
The Maahes void handcannon is a 257 double burst like Warden's Law, so it shreds on Lucky Pants. We are double dipping into Facet of Bravery with volatile rounds on the handcannon and heavy and unraveling rounds on the rocket side arm.
We are getting ample explosions via Facet of Awakening, our strand weapon, and Gunpowder Gamble. A melee into a large group can proc Gunpowder Gamble in one go. Shooting or throwing tangle kills also charge Gunpowder Gamble.
Deeper dive:
You can easily make tangles from our from melee or defeating three targets with strand from Awakening.*
The last fragment is a flex spot. For an even more aggressive approach, use Balance. For more defense, Protection.
But I would note that this build is very survivable even without a defensive fragment. Played correctly, you have two almost always available sources invisibility. Your melee or throwing a void grenade and using either void weapon make you invisible. And you have two sources of sever, cutting enemy damage by 40%.
The challenge with this one is that you need RNGsus to bless you with the world drop Maahes (pronounced Maaaaaaaaahes like a sheep) HC4 with Frenzy. Repulsor brace is a nice 3rd column perk, because of course, we'll have volatile rounds, but doesn't make or break it and stuff is usually well and dead at that part of the loop.
*Technically there are three ways to make tangles because, although the cooldown from unraveling rounds and the cooldown from tangles are almost the same, meaning you won't be directly procing another tangle, if you actually left a group to unravel alone, the unravelfest can last longer than the tangle cool down. This you want to try to avoid though usually because that usually is a 'where the hell-okitty is my tangle?' situation.
1) use the melee for a large group of adds, thus refunding it mostly, and often completely if you have the armor charges and catch it.
1.5 ) The 'get good' aspect of this is to not squander radiant by getting some shots off while vigilantly waiting to catch your melee to get your refund. Then finish off any other adds with unraveling rounds or by exploding any tangles (collect for next group)
2) throw a weakening grenade at a tougher target and unload with some Lucky Panting.
3) more tougher, with radiant from dodge as needed to get the melee back first then back to 3
4) really really tough? Throw grenade, super or transcendent, then Tractor Cannon, then Lucky Pants
5) really really really tough or can't get within 5 - 7 meters? Switch your heavy to Deathbringer or Two Tailed Fox and stay in cover but otherwise the same.
