After a successful melee hit, this weapon gains increased damage, reduced charge time, and improved reload speed for a short duration. Hitting a target with most of the pellets in a burst increases melee damage for a short duration.

While Sentinel Shield is active, defeating targets with melee attacks recharges Shield Throw, which extends your Super on hitting a target.

How It Works

Updated for Heresy

Are you a purple explosion enjoyer? Like to bash stuff with a shield? This is a build for you.

Prior versions of this I would run with Monte Carlo or Traveler's Chosen to get melee back fast to get super back fast. However, with the buffs to recharge time of roaming supers, I feel like you get your super back plenty fast without building completely into that.

This update instead wades more into the other nice neutral perk of Doomfang Pauldrons - easy access to 4x weapon surge, for those times when using your super would be overkill.

We're also prioritizing high uptime on grenades for weaken so all our weapons and abilities are doing more damage in between our juiced super.

In-Depth Explanation

Gameplay Loop

Building Super Loop: 1) powered melee to make one orb 2) get another orb from weapon or grenade defeats 3) paint someone down with your primary and finish them. Go back to 1.

For any yellow or orange bars, with Bastion 1) melee them. Unpowered if super isn't up to save your powered for a kill. Powered if not. 2) shoot Bastion

Once your super is up, you can just go wild with all abilities and weapons.

And don't save your super too much, you can get it back in under a minute with this.

Super!!!!! Either practice or read/watch a guide on this, because there are a few combos in this super. But Doomfang's in particular gives longer super on your shield throw hits, so spam that grenade button.
