Destiny 2 Hunter BuildCollateral Damage (Mask of Fealty / Khvostov)

Preference. But here are some factors worth considering:

• Consider what buff you want via Facet of Purpose.

• Silence and Squall provides slow and freezing that interact with your Exotic Armor and Winter's Shroud.

• Shadowshot/crystal explosions/Gunpowder Gamble is bananas.

• Golden Gun's restoration on orbs and cure from Facet of Mending are a nice combo as far as gameplay flow.

Gambler’s Dodge forms part of a key melee loop which fuels radiant, transcendence, and even grenades.

Withering Blade this is the Withering Blade exotic.

Going with Void Grenade isnt critical. This is letting us get weaken for the toughest targets but we have so much built towards fast transcendence, it isnt used as often as some builds. If you prefer another grenade, take it and swap out Facet of Dominance for Protection.

A prismatic hunter without Stylish Executioner?

Hear me out…the thing with this exotic pairing is that our add clear is fast and halfway automatic. Throw a Withering Blade and shoot the toughest target in the room with Khvostov and you typically just have one foe left. Only one angle to worry about as far as cover.

And Ill come back to connect the dots as far as other survival strategies below.

But yes…

Gunpowder Gamble for lots of grenades and

Winter’s Shroud to get those melees back fast.

• Grace - the fragment, combined with the high damage and high AoE damage of Khvostov is one of the keys to fast transcendence.

• Dawn - We get back our melees fast with our exotic armor, dodge related aspects and abilities.

• Purpose - for a survivability buff.

• Mending - Cure from Grenades? This seems like an odd pick on a build with an exotic built to spam melees. Why not Blessing instead? I tried that, but the issue is that in harder content, Withering Blades often doesn't defeat basic redbars outright. With Mask of Fealty, the crystals it spawns always will but defeats with them don't trigger mending. However, the bounces and crystal defeats all charge Gunpowder Gamble. Note though—Shooting it to explode it early doesn't proc Mending. But, of course, Mending will work with your regular and prismatic grenades.

• Dominance - This one is not critical. If you don't want to go with void grenade, swap with Protection.

Khvostov 7G-0X starts the engine for this build, giving you a combo of good sustained kinetic damage and, with your aspects, we catalyze that with a balance of stasis and solar for lots of transcendence uptime.

For legendary weapons, this build is very flexible. We aren't using any facets for elemental pickups, so there isn't a particular best synergy. And we have all champions covered with abilities.

Armor Sets Khvostov has shoot to loot, and AoE, so you get Smoke Jumper and Ferropotent (via recuperation) range.

Armor Stats The initial melee itself here doesn't do a ton of damage. It is all the bouncing on frozen targets and crystals, which don't benefit from melee stat over 100.

So what I actually go for is high weapon stat for buffing their damage and ammo generation. Melee to 100 to be able to recoup two melees when dodging near enemies, the rest rather balanced.

Armor Mods I think self-explanatory.

A bunch of nice buffs with the kinetic and arc options.

Barrier - radiant from Facet of Dawn and/or use a hand cannon.

Unstoppable - ignitions are possible but I don't find super reliable, so unstoppable bow/heavy cross bow is useful. Submersion with chill clip will synergize with your kit too and also double duty for overloads.

Overload - slow and freeze from abilities.

A lot of this build works from cover and the add clear is so efficient you are usually just sparring with one tough target. Use that cover.

This includes the perks that Khvostov has shoot to loot, so we can easily get heals from recuperation and buffs from Facet of Purpose and our armor from afar.

The exception is that we do need quick entries into the fray to dodge near foes if you want to get your double melee back.

We also get Cure from grenade defeats.
