Pick up Orbs of Power or land precision hits to charge this weapon's Super bar. Once full, [Alternate Weapon Action] to fire Golden Gun shots.

Armor

Precision final blows reduce the cooldown of your Super. Modifies Golden Gun to fire a single, high-damage shot. Targets defeated by that shot give you Super energy and explode.

Build Details

How It Works

We lost a fragment slot with Edge of Fate changes but got some big benefits from the new stat system and very nice artifact perks for this build. Overall a buff.

Summary

I have run standard Celestial Nighthawk / Still Hunt builds and I certainly have one saved for the right activities. But I got tired of being on random groups and feeling like I am just contributing to boss damage and not even being super effective against your average yellow bars at closer range.

This rework is something I have run in a lot of different modes that hits a sweet spot of constant area of effect (AoE), yellow target, boss damage, and not dying.

We get there via 1. ridiculously fast supers 2. rapid uptime of buffs and debuffs 3. invisibility at will and other survivability 4. three approaches to add clear, that all reinforce 1 to 3 and 5. Building to ensure ammo so we can always have those for tough targets.

All in all, in contrast to some other approaches to Celestial Nighthawk/Still Hunt, you'll find you don't need to save your Golden Gun or Still Hunt up for the most serious targets, we can get either back in seconds, not minutes.

All that said, I do sometimes switch to Apex Predator for discrete dps phases.

Please see the dropdowns for details.

In-Depth Explanation

Gameplay Loop

We situationally go with whatever add clear approach is most safe and efficient to build up Golden Gun and Still Hunt.

-if close to melee range is safe, dodge and melee once to freeze, crit kill anything you’ve missed

-if at longer range, pop stuff with your primary and special

-if more chunky targets get on top of you = sword

-transcend if things go sideways

When you have a real bossy boss:

  1. Still Hunt Super (don’t shoot yet)
  2. Regular Golden Gun (don’t shoot yet)
  3. Throw both melee and grenade at boss for buffs/debuffs
  4. shoot both golden shots
