Destiny 2 Warlock BuildCrown of Tempest Prism Warlock

Even though I have the build complete and I have a lot of success and fun in GM (not able to finish because it's too awful for this build when you are getting blinded 24/7 and you are basically dead when you are charging into a blinding spot and have nothing to back you up) and seasonal activity. This aspect just feels awful to use, the fact that enemies can still hit for full damage when you are blinking forward is very bad at high end content like GM without the help of artifact perks like Galvanic Armor, I've encountered numerous time that I charge into the overload champion and it just burst me down with 3 shots before I can stun him. Consecration has 25% DR while in the melee animation with insane damage, lightning surge has no DR while blinking forward with lower damage... I hope Bungie can give some DR for Lightning Surge and make it better to use.

The 2nd part about this aspect is the steep miss chance with those lightning strike, Consecration has 100% chance hitting an enemy when the wave hits the enemy, no matter its near where you start casting or at the end of the wave, it will always hit, and Lightning surge will MISS ENEMIES WHEN YOU ARE BLINKING NEAR IT sometimes??!! The only way that I can get it work consistently is literally blink IN FRONT OF THE ENEMY?? You know what works better at that range? Combination blow hunter.

I really hope they can buff this aspect, it's just so bad when you compared to Titan and Hunter's melee choice of Consecration and Combination blow. Consecration has insane damage and the ignition clears more adds than the Lightning Surge itself, Combination blows has insane single damage, with Winter's Shroud granting 50% DR for 4s after dodge, and the slow is good for crowd control and some bonus damage with Facet of Courage.

Don't talk about Syntho Lightning Surge, if it's already this inconsistent without it, I don't want to have a guarantee 1 shot champion kill becomes the tomb of me because either 1) I got killed while SILDING or 2) THE LIGHTNING STRIKE MISSES THE CHAMPION.

Ofc, I'm mainly talking about the worst case scenario which is NO ARTIFACT PERK buffing this build and in a GM (-20 power), but those 2 problems are the main reasons why I hate this aspect. If they can somehow make it better, I would absolutely love it, sliding everywhere and destroying everything while zooming :)

It's bad. It's bad. It's bad. I hate it and I hope I'll never use it. Even Crown of Tempest can't make it good because its DPS is so FUCKING HORRIBLE and you are unable to stun ANY champion while you are in super (if you want to count the jolt when you cast, so be it but are you sure you can survive in a GM with like 10 enemies hitting you, and you are trying to go near it and cast Stormtrance JUST TO STUN AN OVERLOAD???)

Song of Flame is the next best in slot here because it's the best roaming super in prismatic warlock, and it does benefit from Crown of Tempest as well. You might be thinking, how can you get conduction times in Song of Flame??? The answer is very simple, Indebted Kindness voltshot, you can get some kill while in super to get some jolt final blows while in Song of Flame to extend its duration for a little bit, even though you won't be getting that x3 of 66% less super drain of Stormtrance. It's damage is still going to outperform Stormtrance with no buff.

I've tried a lot of combination with The Call on this build and it just doesn't work like Lost Signal. For example, I tried using The Call with Pro Memoria and Choir of One on energy slot so I can have: 1) Decent Super regen with Dealer's Choice origin trait when killing enemies with The Call and Pro Memoria 2) 2 Strand weapons for dark transcendence energy 3) Choir of One deals massive burst damage while hip-firing, ADS mode can help with add clear 4) Less ammo issues across the board with a heavy machine gun

But, all of these points doesn't make any sense on this build. Let me tell you why.

Counter 1) Super regen is ALREADY BUSTED with Conduction Times x3 buff for that juicy 503% regen speeds, so using The Call and Pro Memoria combo to kill enemies doesn't help get it any faster, but it might even make it slower because you need to actively use these weapons to kill enemies in the 1st place. Unlike Lost Signal, the goal of this weapon is just to build up transcendence, and you'll get super back even quicker when you are spamming lightning surge in transcendence with Hands-On, Heavy Handed armor mods and Conduction Times x3 buff. Counter 2) Lost Signal is able to get even more dark transcendence energy than both of them combined. I've tried it multiple times on 2 different GM (Europa battlegrounds and Devil's Lair) and expert seasonal battleground. You might be thinking, how is it even possible? It's because this thing shoot 6 projectile all at once and they all spawned a pool that ALL of them can deal damage when an enemy stand inside of them. So, you can theoretically have all 6 pool shooting 6 different enemies, which is going to be so much more efficient than The Call or Pro Memoria's single target. Not to mention the pool generated from origin trait also generates dark energy, which makes it the best weapon to generate dark energy. Counter 3) Choir of One deals massive damage, and yes it is the upside of using this weapon. But it is going to be the only thing that you are going to do with this weapon because it doesn't proc Conduction Times buff so you are missing out on a lot of super and ability regen, which is the main point of using this Crown of Tempests in the 1st place. Counter 4) A Special Finisher can solve this problem, or if you are already used to double special, it's not a huge problem even you are soloing GM.

So, what about a direct competition between The Call and Lost Signal?

1) Dark Transcendence energy: Lost Signal win. 2) Single target damage: The Call win. 3) Commitment on the weapon: Lost Signal win. (Why? You can use other weapon after you shoot all of your pool out to deal even more damage, which means you are generating dark transcendence energy without using the weapon itself most of the time) 4) Ammo constraint: Lost Signal win. (Not determined by how much ammo you need to kill a single enemy, but how much ammo you need to fill the full dark transcendence energy bar, which is the main reason why I use both of them)

So, The Call only wins on damage and nothing else in this build. Hence why I ditched Lost Signal at the end.
