How It Works

Disclaimer: the inspiration for this build came from a Mactics build video a while back.

This build is about one thing, and one thing only; EXPLOSIONS, and lots of them.

In this build, you'll utilize 2 primary tools to bring maximum explosive awesomeness. The first tool is called Fusion Grenade, and the second is called Ashen Wake.

Now, usually Fusion grenade is a sticky grenade used by a specific class that shall not be named. When thrown, it'll stick to things and go boom. Pretty simple.

However, when you have our second tool equipped, Ashen Wake, it turns our Fusion Grenade into a high explosive impact grenade that regenerates grenade energy with each kill. Sound awesome yet? It gets better.

Instead of a base amount of energy recharged with each kill, it varies depending on the tier of enemy. I'll list some tested percentages below (taken from destiny data compendium).

  • Red bar enemies = 25%
  • Yellow bar enemies (elites) = 50%
  • Boss tier enemies (yellow bars with all caps names) = 100%

Taking these numbers into account, throwing your grenade into a group of 4 red bars, 2 yellow bars, or 1 yellow bar and 2 red bars will each refund your grenade entirely.

Pretty crazy right? It get even better when you factor in the amount of grenade energy you get from the two copies of Grenade Kickstart.

With both mod copies equipped and max armor charges (4), which you'll be getting two of with each orb thanks to Stacks on Stacks, just throwing your grenade will refund a whopping 41.3%!

Factoring that into the amount of energy we get from Ashen Wake, that means that you can guarantee a fully refunded grenade with max armor charge from 1 yellow bar enemy or 2 red bar enemies.
