How It Works

This build uses Mask of Bakris coupled with Ager's Scepter to spread Slow across the battlefield and buff your weapon damage to crazy levels.

Dodging with Mask of Bakris provides brief invulnerability as you shift up to 10 metres away, slowing any nearby targets thanks to Winter's Shroud. Additionally, you will deploy your Threaded Specter to take aggro away from yourself and damaging enemies upon damage. This one ability activations will also grant you 4x Stasis + Arc Weapon Surges for 11 seconds, giving your Arc and Stasis weapons a 25% weapon damage buff. Any Shatters that occur from damaging frozen targets (this is all the time) will also deal additional damage in a larger radius thanks to Facet of Ruin.

Your powered melee, Withering Blade, can be used to give yourself Radiant for Anti-Barrier capabilites and a 20% weapon damage buff, aswell as prepping packs of enemies to be beamed down by your suped-up Ager's Scepter.

Ager's becomes a nuclear weapon with this build, largely in part due to the numerous easy ways to ramp up it's damage. Here's some of the ways you'll be powering it up:

  • using a charged melee (20% buff) - Facet of Dawn
  • using your class ability (25% buff) - Mask of Bakris
  • using it on slowed or frozen enemies (35% buff) - Harsh Refraction
  • consuming some of your Super energy to empower it (80% buff and Slow on hit) - Ager's Scepter Catalyst

It is worth noting that upon using your dodge with Mask of Bakris, your class ability regeneration is paused at 0% until the 11 second surges expire. This is not a problem for this build as even with low mobility you will be getting your dodge back rapidly thanks to Facet of Hope, which gives an additional 40% class ability regeneration rate whenever you have an elemental buff (60% with 2 or more elemental buffs), as well as the Absolution and Focusing Strike armor mods. Additionally, Winter's Shroud provides a massive 300% class ability regeneration rate buff for 3 seconds whenever Slow is applied to an enemy. Getting the elemental buffs needed to proc Facet of Hope is extremely easy as you will be gaining Radiant through both charges of your Withering Blade, Frost Armor from picking up orbs and Bolt Charge from our Voltshot kills with Indebted Kindness from the Dielectric artifact perk.

In terms of survivability, this build is pretty solid. Facet of Protection provides 15% damage resistance when near 3 or more enemies. Anytime you pop Transcendence, you gain a further 20% damage resistance for 20 seconds. Orb pickups grant you 2 stacks of Frost Armor for a maximum damage resistance of 31.25% at 5 stacks. With Dielectric from the artifact giving you easy access to Bolt Charge, this can be paired with the Flashover node to give you Amplified on reaching max Bolt Charge stacks, granting you a further 15% damage resistance and making enemies targeting you less accurate. Your Threaded Specter will take aggro away from you on every dodge, allowing for you to go almost unnoticed when fighting big packs of ads. The unique dodge from Bakris also grants brief invulnerability and a decently ranged lunge, allowing you to use it as a panic button to avoid a big hit or dash out of a group of ads. The aspect Winter's Shroud also gives a hidden 40% damage resistance buff for 4 seconds after dodging. Recuperation from your boots gives access to easy and frequent heals whilst fighting, as well as access to healing on Trace Rifle multikills through the Beam Medic artifact perk. Furthermore, the huge amounts of Slow you will be spreading also make enemies less accurate, move slower (obviously) and eventually Freeze, giving this build stupid levels of CC.

Ammo isn't an issue for this build either, with no need for weapon surge mods on your boots thanks to Mask of Bakris, your Armor Charge can be used to fuel Special Finisher on your cloak. For even more ammo, consider taking the Gold from Lead and Dreadful Finisher artifact mods to keep your juiced weapons from running dry.

Althought it might look like this build may struggle with getting Transcendent, don't worry - you're covered. The Facet of Devotion fragment allows for any Stasis afflicted targets you kill to give you some Light Transcendence energy to help even out the two energy meters.

Champion wise, Overload and Unstoppable Champions are easily dealt with from your many slowing and freezing capabilities, whilst your 2 charges of Withering Blade grant you Radiant for 5 seconds on hit, giving you Anti-Barrier capabilities easily.

That's pretty much it! As far as a gameplay loop goes, there really isn't one - just use your abilities as you see fit to stack your arsenal of buffs and debuffs and destroy everything in sight in a very, very satisfying way. It's a lot of fun and manages to combine fantastic survivability, ad-clear, crowd-control and single target damage from a relatively 'brain off' loop. Should also get even stronger with the artifact coming in the new Edge of Fate DLC that revolves heavily around Stasis.

Gameplay Loop
  1. Slow pack of enemies through Withering Blade, your dodge, your Duskfield Grenade or a kill from Ager's Scepter

  2. Activate Light Shift by using your dodge to gain 4x Stasis + Arc Weapon Surges

  3. Annihilate mob with a few shots of Ager's

  4. Profit.
