How It Works

The most important thing is that you have a Relativism with Spirit of Renewal. This gives you frost armor, it gives your team frost armor, it reduces enemies' damage and it chills and freezes enemies. Second perk is partially to taste, though I recommend Spirit of Cyrtarachne for even more bulk.

Secondly, you want 100 Grenade, 100 Super and at least 100 Class. A lot of your damage is weapon damage, so Weapon isn't bad either. Health can be decent with orb printer(s). Avoid Melee.

With all of my recommendations, you have: 1. Frost Armor for yourself and allies on grenade use. 2. Woven Mail on grenade use. 3. Radiant for yourself and allies on class ability use. 4. Amplified for yourself and allies on class ability use. 5. Jolt on enemies on class ability use. 6. Chill on enemies on class ability use. 7. The strongest Weaken effect in the game on super use. 8. A nontrivial Weaken effect if you bother using your melee ability. 9. Overshield and healing any time you pick up an orb (use an orb printer). 10. Anti-overload functionality on class ability OR grenade. 11. Anti-barrier functionality on any weapon (without other perks) via your extremely high radiant uptime.

So not only are you absurdly tanky between Frost Armor, Woven Mail, Amplified AND Overshield, but your team gets to benefit from the lion's share of those effects as well. You might be worried about uptime but Facet of Hope and Winter's Shroud give you effectively perfect Amplified uptime and nearly perfect Radiant uptime.

Weapons are actually largely to taste, but you absolutely 100% want something that uses Attrition Orbs well. Eighty-Six (the new strand sword) is superb in this regard as periodically throwing in a heavy will instantly print an orb and gives you an absolutely massive chunk of ability energy. Enough to have 100% uptime on your grenade buffs AND class ability buffs.

Any SMG with attrition orbs does reasonably well and gives you even more anti-overload ability this season.

Praxic Blade is excellent as well between its damage and ability to block, which can be useful if you do find yourself with a gap between buffs.

Gameplay Loop
  1. Use Ascension while near as many allies and enemies as possible.
  2. Use Duskfall Grenade on an enemy and stand in it.
  3. Use your super on tankier targets.
  4. DPS and print orbs.
  5. Repeat.
