Build Details

How It Works

This build might be one of the most slept on in Renegades! The Thriving Sunbracers warlock is incredible at the moment and is only going to get better the next time Solar is a featured element. It makes great use of the 4-piece Thriving Survivor armor set that give you +40 to both Grenade and Weapon stat making it fairly easy to hit 200 in both easily. Combine this with triple Solar Surge mods on the legs and the god roll Outrageous Fortune for sale at Zavala with the Envious Arsenal/B&S perks and you got yourself a monster of a build in any scenario!

This build works just as it used too in the past, where after you get 1 powered melee kill, you get unlimited Grenade energy long enough to throw appx 4-5 Solar Grenades. Combining this with 200 Grenade stat pumps out a ton of damage either all around the arena or right on top of 1 big boss.

On top of the insanely powerful core ability rotation, we will also be making use of the Zealous Ideal with Heal Clip/Incan to spread more scorch and synergize with the solar surge mods to make it easy to proc the Thriving survivor armor set bonus. Using Heat Rises will also allow us to recharge our melee pretty quickly by getting kills while airborne, and this counts from Grenade kills as well.

As for an exotic weapon, I recommend Witherhoard as it is arguably the best exotic to have for a Bait n Switch DPS rotation since the dot damage constantly counts as a hit, saving you time from swapping weapons to pump out more heavy ammo

As far as the rest of the build, there is a lot of synergy to work with, such as:

  • Touch of Flame for longer lasting, and larger AoE for Solar Grenades
  • Ember of Torches for almost 100% Radiant uptime on Melee hits
  • Ember of Resolve to grant us Cure after every grenade kill making you essentially immortal with how quickly everything dies
  • Armor Mods tailored for fast Super regen, Solar weapon damage buff, buffing our grenade damage, and Orb creation,
  • Ember of Empyrean to extend Radiant and Restoration/Cure buffs for 100% uptime as long as there are enemies
Gameplay Loop

Normal Loop 1. Consume Grenade to proc Heat Rises 2. Use Melee ability to get at least 1 kill 3. Throw 4-5 back-to-back Solar Grenades essentially carpet-bombing the battlefield 4. Shoot things with Solar Weapons 5. Repeat

Boss Damage Loop 1. Use Melee (Try to kill an ad if there are some around) 1a. If proc'd, throw 4-5 solar grenades at the boss' feet 2. Pop Super 3. Shoot Witherhoard 4. Swap to Zealous Ideal and hit the boss 5. Swap to Outrageous Fortune and empty the mag 6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 one more time 7. Swap to Witherhoard and hit the boss 8. Repeat steps 4-7 until out of Outrageous Fortune ammo 9. Spam alternating your melee and Grenade ability until out of super
