Destiny 2 Warlock BuildThe Girth Control
PvEThis weapon stores Void debuffs when damaging foes, leeching them directly when the target is suppressed, weakened, or volatile. Once charged, [Alternate Weapon Action] to cause damage from this weapon and to apply the stored debuffs.
Powered melee hits weaken targets. Powered melee final blows create a burst of energy that weakens nearby targets. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the radius of the burst and the length of the weakening effect.

Additional Artifact Mods
- Anti-Barrier Pulse Rifle
- Unstoppable Sidearm
- Overload Hand cannon
- Transference
Benefits of Build
- Provides a choice or mixture between x3 ranged sever powered melee and x3 jolt slide powered melee
- Each powered melee kill or finisher causes a 30% AOE debuff on targets nearby
- Constant devour uptime on any ability kill
- Aimed towards building transcendency meter
Playstyles This build centers around spamming your powered melee as much as possible depending on the situation along with using finishers where possible. This takes advantage of being Transcendence anytime possible for back to back powered melees which nets the 30% aoe debuff on enemies killed by it. Keep in mind your Solar Super melee does not trigger the AOE (I hope to jah this is a bug as it would be amazing). You can either stay safe and use your Arcane needle for ranged play or get under their balls and cha cha slide 3 times, you decide based on the content and situational awareness.
Super Choice Honestly the super is just a flex as the highlight of this build is really Felwinter and Collective, I chose Song of Flame as it’s pretty lengthy and potent but you can choose any if you’d like on the basis of what kind of subclass buff you would like on an Orb of Power pickup, no additional setup or change required. Example:
- Stasis - Frost Armour
- Solar - Restoration
- Strand - Woven Mail
- Arc - Amplify
- Void - Overshield
SURVIVABILITY
- Feel free to swap x1 Invigoration for Recuperation if you think you'll need it, I didn't.
- Phoenix Dive for Cure x2
- Restoration from picking up Orb of Power due to Facet of Purpose.
- Void Overshield from seasonal artifact mod Void Hegemony which gives the overhshield for defeating weakened targets which should be constant if you're tapping into Felwinters and Collective Obligation's trait.
- Proximity Ward overshield while performing finisher (YES, even on exploding THRALLS as they will not blow up on you during a finisher but I still advise against that as team mates can blow you up instead)
Kinetic & Power Weapon Exception power weapon is Song of Ir Yut for Cursed Thrall. Strand weapons are best in both slots mainly due to filling your Transcendence darkness meter (Stasis ones could work as well but the artifact mods being used right now are tailored towards strand). MINIMUM of 1 strand weapon is recommended, always best to have 2 to fill darkness meter faster as your light meter will naturally fill due to your chosen super, elemental pickups and Collective Obligation being light based.
CHECK ACTIVITY BASED LOADOUTS BELOW
In-Depth Explanation
- Use your grenade to trigger Devour and Volatile Rounds on kill.
- Use Arcane Needle to kill any mob that survived OR use Lightning Surge to jolt and kill any remaining enemies, thus applying the 30% AOE debuff.
- Follow up with a finisher on any nearby enemy to keep the trend going.
- Use Collective Obligation to pick away at any enemy that was affected by the debuff(s) to siphon and save it for later usage.
- Activate Collective Obligation's perk on thick or girthy mobs, prioritize Overload champions if you have the suppress charge to stun them.
- Use strand weapons in between to shoot mobs and tangles from your strand powered melee to top up darkness meter.
- Pop Transcendance any chance you get to spam powered melees for constant AOE debuffs.
- Pop Super any chance you get to spam those grenades and melees. Again melee kills in super do not trigger the AOE.
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER
- You can infinitely keep your Collective Obligation debuffs if you use it on a Champion/Boss/girthy target. As long as one of those mentioned mobs is alive and has the debuffs applied, you can shoot them again right after your Void Leech timer ends to acquire those debuffs again. Rinse and repeat.
- You can stun Overloads with Lighting Surge because it jolts, mobs that are jolted and killed by said jolt will also trigger the AOE.
- You can stun Overloads with Collective Obligation if you have the suppression charge.
- Your Transcendance grenade does suppression along with the freeze so it's a good time to use Collective Obligation even for a second to grab that suppression charge.
- DO NOT save your Transcendance!! Pop it like your momma told you right and spam that melee shiii!
- Same as above for your Super whenever necessary!
Have fun and slide 3 times now y'all.
