How It Works

This build was already amazing in the last episode, but somehow, it’s even better now!

The core gameplay loop is simple yet satisfying: You ascend, slam down, and unleash an Arc Bolt from the sky, jolting and blinding everything in sight.

Being Amplified makes you faster, more tanky, and more evasive while also doubling your class ability recharge rate thanks to the Flow State aspect. Since we use Marksman Dodge, we have the shortest possible cooldown, making near back-to-back Ascensions possible.

When it comes to Supers, the choice is yours. Gathering Storm is excellent for boss damage, while Arc Staff is perfect for everything else. Since it is a roaming Super, it recharges quicker and also neatly allows you to ascend in your super.

The best exotic for this build is Gifted Conviction, which enhances your Ascensions even further. Thanks to our gameplay loop, we’re constantly jolting and refreshing our 4x Resist, making us incredibly tanky. In fact, our maximum damage resistance is an impressive 88.8%:

  • 30% from built-in resilience
  • 50% from 4x Resist (40% for 3x, 25% for 2x)
  • 15% from being Amplified
  • 25% from Spark of Resistance (while surrounded)
  • 50% from Arc Conductor (against Arc damage only)

For stats, you’ll want Weapons as high as possible. Not only will it boost your weapon damage and spawn more ammo bricks, it will also boost your ascension damage (while holding a sword). Not many people know this, but it's true. You also want a high Class stat to benefit from the overshield that'll get during our ascensions.

For weapons, Arc Ergo Sum is my go-to choice, best paired with an aggressive frame and Arc Conductor, which grants extra damage resistance against Arc damage and chains lightning to nearby enemies, reproccing jolts which refreshes our Resist. If you want alternatives, Psychopomp or Delicate Tomb work well, though they’re not as satisfying. If you use an Arc special weapon while Amplified, final blows trigger a blinding blast thanks to the Spark of Beacons fragment. For on-demand blinding, you can rely on Disorienting Blow or a Flashbang Grenade, which also Jolts enemies through Spark of Shock, making it great for stunning Overload and Unstoppable champions.

Every part of this build has been carefully crafted to maximize synergies and perfected the Ascension-centric gameplay. The result? You literally feel like the God of Thunder as you chain abilities, unleash devastating Arc Bolts, and bring the storm down on everything in your path.
