Destiny 2 Hunter BuildNether Hunter Support (Nerfed)
PvEKills with this weapon leave behind Remnants. Absorbing a Remnant converts your next hipfired shot into an ally-seeking Noble Round and partially refills the magazine.
Moderately increases airborne effectiveness and hip fire mobility, range, and accuracy for weapons that use Primary ammo.
Final blows with Primary ammo weapons return dodge energy, which can overflow to create additional charges when full.
strengths
Heal your teammates efficiently
Draws aggro from enemies
Overflows class ability charges quickly
weaknesses
Depends on trash mobs to activate healing
Boss DPS depends on Heavy slot
Weapons and Unrelenting could possibly be fixed in a future patch
Build Details
As of 02/13/25, Update 8.2.0.1 has now nerfed the health regeneration from this weapon setup AND the class ability refund from RDM (back down to 33% from 100%), so RIP to this build.
Both Crimson and the Unrelenting perk are now behaving to give a little health back on kill instead (I can assume this is also the case for Lumina without testing it), admittedly better than what I've seen the Devour keyword heals for before this patch, so healing across the board might be looking better overall at least.
This build is a variation of Plunder's "Jolting Clones" build, with a focus on weapon load-outs that FULLY heal yourself and your teammates.
(View his build/video for an in-depth explanation of the mechanics of the actual class setup.)
Lumina is used for team healing but can easily be replaced with Crimson if soloing. The new strand support frame Adamantite can also roll with Unrelenting, so you can use that as well to open up your exotic slot, but your team healing pales in comparison to Lumina fully healing with only one Noble Round.
I am using Calus Mini-Tool with Unrelenting/Incandescent to take advantage of Facet of Ruin (originally only slotted for its mobility stat bonus), which helps clear mobs faster to trigger Unrelenting. Feel free to use a Special weapon with the Unrelenting perk, such as the new Psychopomp area denial launcher.
Heavy weapon slot is open to personal preference; I would recommend something to use for boss DPS.
- Activate Ascension to spawn a Threaded Spectre
- Kill with Lumina to refund and overflow your class ability, as well as gain Noble Rounds
- Use Noble Rounds to heal allies and your weapon with Unrelenting to heal yourself, as needed
- Repeat, using your multiple class ability charges to continue spawning clones
