• Easy access to Void Overshields ( +70% damage resistance, while they last ) by blocking with Vexcalibur ( for 5 sec, which can be refilled, while they persist, with a glaive melee kill )
• Recommended 100+ Resistance ( +30% damage resistance )

in normal gameplay. Not under optimal conditions, mind you, normal gameplay! This build can easily allow you to stack both armor types even in high level content.

• Easily replenished Void Overshieds, whenever you score a glaive melee kill
• Regular small healing chunks every 2,5/1 sec with Banner of War x1/x4.

Do not forget, that enemy hits won't stop your healing or natural regeneration starting, as long as you have a Void Overshield!

• Seemingly always available Sever debuff in the form of Frenzied Blade, which will further reduce enemies damage by 40%

total damage resistance + Sever effect

= ~93% EFFECTIVE ARMOR !!!

The burst damage ability of the build relies on effectively stacking the strengths of the 1-2-Punch Shotguns and Wishful Ignorance ( WI ) and use of a glaive, to let melee charges stack up for when needed, while still making good use of Banner of War ( BoW ).

WI might lack the raw melee damage buff Synthoceps or Wormgod Caress offer, but adds other strengths to a melee build.

Those other exotic armors can't help strand titan in reclaiming Frenzied Blade stacks, while WI will return 5% melee charge for every guardian in the vicinity with every BoW pulse.

I.e., playing solo, with a BoW x4, that would be 5% additional melee charge/sec in addition to the small BoW healing chunk. This way, you are at greater liberty to use Frenzied Blade not just for bursting big targets, but also to apply Sever or quickly erradicate a mob without feeling bad for wasting a big chunk of your arsenal ;) .

But how does the damage compare? The highest DPS outside of a super for the build can be, with a raised Banner of War for +40% melee damage / +25% glaive melee damage, could be:

• 1-2-Punch Shotgun 1st Shot
• Frenzied Blade #1 ( x1.4 x2.0 dmg )
• Frenzied Blade #2 ( x1.4 x2.0 x1.2 dmg )
• 1-2-Punch Shotgun 2nd Shot
• Frenzied Blade #3 ( x1.4 x2.0 x1.5 dmg )
• Frenzied Blade #4 ( x1.4 x2.0 x2.0 dmg )

• 1-2-Punch Shotgun 3rd Shot
• Frenzied Blade #5 ( x1.4 x2.0 x2.0 dmg ) with a full 6 people raid team close by for 30% melee energy/BoW pulse

[ So under most circumstances you can unleash the effective damage of

2 shotgun hits + 16 Frenzied Blade* hits / ~3.5 sec or 3 shotgun hits + 21.5 Frenzied Blade hits / ~4.2 sec under raid conditions ]

Do not worry about the charges, because BoW will restore them very fast, even faster, if you have Woven Mail or/and snuggle for a sec with your team mates ;) .

Banner of War offers significantly reduced benefits, while Burning Fists ( Wormgod Caress ) or Biotic Enhancement ( Synthoceps ) are active.

• BoW buff with Burning Fists x5: +10% melee / + 5% glaive melee damage
• BoW buff with Biotic Enhancement: +15% melee / + 12.5% glaive melee damage, WILL ALSO CAP THE SUPER DAMAGE BUFF AT 20% !!!

So under optimal conditions ( BF x5; 3+ enemies within 15m ), with active BoW and a 1-2-Punch Shotgun:

• Wormgod Caress offers: 2 shotgun hits + 25.7 Frenzied Blade hits / ~3 sec

• Synthoceps offers: 2 shotgun hits + 18.3 Frenzied Blade hits / ~3 sec

But Wormgod Caress needs to build up ( and maintain ! ) those stacks to get to that damage, while Synthoceps needs enemies you can't control close by, to enable its damage, while offering only a marginal increase in damage potential, when you need to go all out.

So Synthoceps and Wormgod Caress offer roughly +20% or +80% maximum damage, while Wishful Ignorance will provide its damage under all conditions and let you use your melee frenzies a lot more often.
