Build Details
This is a classic Titan Stronghold build, but with new Prismatic twists! This build will perform very well in almost any content this season, being greatly helped by the fact that our artifact means our Sword always counts as being overcharged as well having far better ammo sustain, damage, and charge rate.
Your kinetic/energy slot weapons don't matter all that much. I prefer a chill clip Riptide because it makes dealing with overloads a cinch, plus pairs nicely with Facet of Courage for some extra damage. For the energy slot, a good solar primary is ideal to take advantage of your solar surge leg mods.
Champions are easily dealt with in this build.
- Barrier: Revved up Lament
- Unstoppable: Diamond Lance, Consecration, Drengr's Lash if you prefer over DIamond Lance
- Overload: Diamond Lance, Chill Clip
None of these options even account for using artifact mods with your choice of primary weapon
With Strongholds, the primary loop is to block with your sword to gain stacks and then attack with your sword to gain Restoration buff (with enough block stacks, you can actually get Restoration x2 which is quite strong and will heal through most anything).
Because Stronghold maxes out your sword's defensive stats, you can block nearly any incoming damage in the game and shrug it off entirely. The combo with Lament is twofold
Blocking also revs your sword, causing it to do extra damage and also penetrate barriers.
Because of the rev feature, Lament does not require your swords energy bar to fully fill before you can block again. This is an often overlooked feature, but in difficult content this is very important. If you go in with a heavy attack on a Throne-Cleaver or Guillotine, you won't be able to block for some crucial seconds which can often mean death. With Lament, you can do your combo and then instantly fall back into blocking until a more opportune moment for you to let your energy fully charge comes along.
None of the armor mods are strictly required. Lucent Blades and Solar Surge mods are highly recommended however
As for stat weights, Restoration is quite low on the totem pole here, it serves little purpose when we have such high uptime on Restoration x2 from our exotic armor. Reslilience is absolutely your #1 priority, but after that its really a toss up and up to you between Discipline, Strength, and Mobility. Mobility likely seems like an odd choice on Titan, but it actually feels quite nice specifically on sword builds because it increases your movespeed while blocking with a sword. This might not seem like a big deal but it does make a pretty considerable difference in difficult content.
And finally, your super also does not matter to much and is largely preference. Twilight Arsenal is not a bad choice giving you the option to use it from range, apply weaken to the boss, and can serve as supplementary heavy ammo if you're low. Void Overshield on orb pickups is not the strongest option though, so switching to strand or stasis super to get DR buffs is not a bad idea at all. That said, you don't really need much passive DR with this build in most instances if you understand the enemy attack patterns and block appropriately, it can help you while learning though giving you a little more leeway if you are not confident in your block skills. Since you'll likely want to be in melee range anyway, those supers pair quite nicely with the build. Solar and Arc supers are probably not worth it either for the supers themselves nor for the buffs they provide on orb pickup.
- Toss your pulse grenade to trigger jolt on a powerful enemy
- As you are moving in to melee range, block at least some if not all of the damage with your sword
- Attack with your sword, this will consume your block stacks and grant a Restoration buff
Remember, with Strongholds your swords defenses are automatically maxed out, you can essentially block any amount of damage for a practically infinite amount of time. Do not be afraid to just turtle block with your sword as your passive regen does not get interrupted by chip damage taken while blocking!
