Build Details
With Destiny 2’s new Armor 3.0 system, Bungie has really encouraged players to experiment with new builds. And today, I’m going to show you one of the most underrated Warlock builds in Edge of Fate.
While the current seasonal Artifact leans toward Strand and Solar builds, we’re going to take things in a completely different direction—and dive into the Void subclass, where we’ve got some seriously powerful tools.
This build is all about spamming grenades that not only deal great damage, but also weaken enemies and regenerate our Nova Bomb super insanely fast.
🧤 Exotic of Choice: Contraverse Hold We’re building this around the Contraverse Hold exotic gauntlets.
They’re perfect for a grenade-heavy playstyle—and they shine when used with Vortex Grenades and the Chaos Accelerant aspect.
Here’s how it works:
Chaos Accelerant lets you charge your grenade to increase its size, damage, and duration.
While charging, you get 20% damage resistance to help you survive.
After landing a hit with the grenade, you gain a 2-second window where your grenade regeneration rate is boosted by 2000%—yes, two thousand percent.
This effect has a 4-second cooldown, but if your grenade hits on both the initial and final burst (like with tankier enemies), it can trigger twice.
💜 Aspects: Chaos Accelerant – boosts Vortex Grenade performance.
Feed the Void – gives you Devour on Void ability kills, so you’ll constantly regenerate health and grenade energy.
🧩 Recommended Fragments: Echo of Undermining – Your grenades apply Weaken, boosting all incoming damage to the target.
Echo of Remnants – Makes your Vortex Grenades last longer, allowing for more total damage.
Echo of Harvest – Creates Orbs of Power when you defeat weakened enemies.
Echo of Reprisal – Grants bonus super energy when surrounded by enemies.
These fragments all support the core loop: weaken enemies, make orbs, regenerate grenades and supers even faster.
💣 Mods & Stats: Your top priority should be maximizing your Grenade stat (Discipline). Here's why:
At 110 Discipline, grenade regen bonuses scale dramatically (up to 190% faster).
At 200 Discipline, your grenades deal 65% more damage.
To help get there:
Equip Grenadier armor (grenade as the main stat).
Use Grenade Font mods — they give bonus grenade stats while you have armor charges:
1 mod = +20
2 mods = +40
3 mods = +50
To keep armor charges active, use mods like:
Siphon – generate orbs via weapon kills.
Firepower – grenade kills generate orbs.
Reaper – class ability kills generate orbs.
Or weapons with Attrition Orbs – generate orbs for you and teammates.
Also look for weapons with Blast Distributor – stacking kills gives up to +50 grenade stat, or +55 with the enhanced version.
🔥 Optional Weapons: Bad Juju (Kinetic Pulse Rifle): Generates super energy on kills and works with Barrier Champions.
Traveler’s Chosen (Exotic Sidearm): Uses Osmosis to match your grenade type, and can refill all your abilities when reloaded after kills.
Sidearms also stun Unstoppable Champions this season.
🛡️ Artifact Synergy: There aren’t many Void-specific mods this season, but there are a few game-changers:
Shieldcrush: While Radiant or Amplified, you get:
+25% grenade regen
+25% grenade damage
Normally you can’t become Radiant on a Void subclass, but thanks to Fever and Chill, now you can!
Fever and Chill: Consecutive precision hits with a Solar weapon grant Radiant for 10 seconds, giving you:
+20% weapon damage
More importantly, it activates Shieldcrush.
Stack this with a Solar weapon that has Heal Clip for bonus healing on reload after kills.
Great Solar options:
Returned Memory, Aberrant Action, Heliocentric – all good sidearms with traits like Incandescent, Burning Ambition, and Heal Clip.
🟣 Void Weapon Synergy: Void weapons are still a strong option here, especially those with:
Repulsor Brace – gives you a Void Overshield when defeating weakened targets.
A Void Overshield blocks 70% of incoming damage, making you much harder to kill.
Try to run a mix of Solar and Void weapons for maximum flexibility and synergy.
🪖 Armor Sets: Some armor sets offer really good set bonuses. For example:
Techsec Set (2-piece) – Gives +200% kinetic damage to shields. Great if you’re using Bad Juju.
Bushido Set (2-piece) – Heals you after killing an enemy with a freshly drawn weapon. Perfect for survivability.
Mix and match based on your loadout and needs.
💥 Final Thoughts When you use Contraverse Hold with this setup:
Your grenades regenerate fast,
They weaken enemies for extra team damage,
And they can one-shot tougher enemies when stacked with buffs like Radiant and grenade stat bonuses.
This leads to faster Nova Bombs, more survivability with Devour, and constant Orb generation to fuel your entire build.
If you haven’t tried this hybrid Void build yet, now is the perfect time.
Give it a shot—and once you do, drop a comment and let me know what you think!
