When it comes to soloing a dungeon there are 3 things you need to think about.
1) Do you have the ad clearing potential to make it to damage phase
2) Do you have the survivability to last in both the DPS and ad clearing phases
3) Can you deal enough damage to not have to go through extra damage phases.
So the first part I wanted to tackle was the Survivability. While I still love running Hunter and Titans, Warlocks take the cake when it comes to survivability. Warlocks have access to SoF to get 90% DR, Constant Healing rifts to stay alive during damage phases, and even access to Devour which will fully heal you on kills.
Now that I’ve taken care of the Survivability I wanted to address the ad clearing portion since this can be an easy place to die. I’m landing on Prismatic Warlock so that I can take some of the strongest ad clearing abilities in the game, including Storm grenade with devour, and Arcane needle to create tangles.
Finally I wanted to add in a few ways to squeeze out some extra damage to hopefully cut down on how many damage phases I need. I’m bringing Facet of Courage and Dominance paired with Hellion to accomplish this goal.
When it comes to the exotic, Class items are the best but I do have a back up for you. If you have an exotic class item with Spirit of Inmost light in the first column, and either Spirits of Star eater or Harmony then you are good to go. Otherwise I would run Mantle of Battle harmony to not only rapid get back your super, but also gain weapon surge on kills. Remember that when running harmony you will want to run with solar weapons as your primary weapon.
You want to start every activity by getting an ability kill to proc devour. From there, you can constantly throw your grenades to clear out enemies and start building that light based transcendent meter. Remember to use your powered melee to unravel targets so they not only take more ability damage, but will also create a tangle. Which you can use to clear out enemies and get a bump to your darkness transcendence energy.
When prepping for a DPS phase, I like to have either my Transcendence or super ready to go.
If you plan on popping your super, make sure to use a powered melee before hand to proc unravel and your class ability to spawn a solar buddy. Then you can either cycle between using a powered melee and your heavy weapon, or just straight up use your heavy weapon if it’s a longer damage phase.
If you don’t have your super ready, pop your transcendence, but try to remember to use all three abilities before hand to add in jolt, unravel, and spawn a solar buddy. Once transcendent, your grenades will weaken the boss, so make sure to throw them often. You can also use you powered melee to help speed up the process of getting back your grenade. When your transcendent and standing in your healing rift, you should have a solid 15 seconds where you won’t have to worry about dying.
If you’re still in a damage phase and don’t have a healing rift, super, or transcendence, you can either choose to play it safe, or you can still kill enemies to fully heal you.
