Why Doomfang Pauldrons Are So Good

Doomfangs give you the Horns of Doom perk, which comes with 3 huge benefits:

Bonus Weapon Damage – Every time you rapidly defeat enemies with a Void weapon or ability, you gain stacks of Weapon Surge, boosting your Void weapon damage up to 25% for 11 seconds.

If you defeat an enemy with a powered Void melee, you instantly trigger the maximum bonus.

Super Energy Gain – Defeating enemies with powered Void melees gives you 20% bonus Super energy.

This can scale even higher depending on your Super stat.

Extending Your Super – When using Sentinel Shield, your Shield Throw refunds 10% Super energy per enemy hit.

This can extend your Super duration by up to 40%, letting you cast Sentinel Shield much more often.

Why Void Subclass Works Best

While you can use Doomfangs with Prismatic, the exotic really shines on pure Void Titan because of how it ties into aspects and fragments:

Constant Overshields for survivability and damage resistance.

New artifact mods boost both ability energy and ability damage while Overshields are active.

Access to Devour for constant health regeneration.

This synergy just doesn’t hit as hard if you’re locked into Twilight Arsenal on Prismatic.

Stat Focus

Doomfangs benefit most from 3 main stats: Super, Melee, and Weapons. With the new armor system, we can boost these higher than ever:

Super & Melee Priority → Aim for Paragon armor.

200 Melee stat = +30% melee damage + faster Super regen.

200 Super stat = +45% Super damage + longer Supers.

Weapon stat to 100+ → Gives Primaries & Specials a 15% damage bonus, which stacks with Doomfang’s Weapon Surge.

If you can’t hit these numbers, use Font mods to push them higher.

Best Void Setup

Aspects → Bastion (Overshield from Barricades) + Offensive Bulwark (extra Super uptime, grenade regen, and melee buffs).

Grenades → Suppressor Grenades (great for stunning Overload Champions).

Melee → Shield Throw preferred (generates Overshields on hit).

With Overshields active, you gain:

+70% damage resistance.

+400% grenade regen.

+160% melee damage and lunge distance.

Pair this with the Shield Crush artifact mod, and your Void melees get +50% damage and regen on top of all that.

Fragments

Echo of Reprisal → Bonus Super energy when surrounded.

Echo of Starvation → Gain Devour when collecting Orbs or Void Breaches.

Echo of Explosion → Void ability kills cause explosions (+10 Super stat).

Echo of Persistence → Devour and Overshields last 50% longer.

This combo gives you constant Overshields, healing, grenade regen, and Super uptime.

Weapons That Work Best

Legendary Options

Void weapons with Destabilizing Rounds or Repulsor Brace = free Overshields.

Weapons with Attrition Orbs or Strategist = faster Super and melee regen.

Exotic Options

Graviton Lance → Void damage, explosions, Vorpal, and its own Overshields.

Monte Carlo → Boosts melee uptime.

Le Monarque or Third Iteration → Solid Void DPS picks.

Vexcalibur → Generates Overshields on block.

Armor & Mods

Armor Mods: Hands-On, Invigoration, Reaper, Heavy Handed, Siphon, Shield Crush.

Armor Sets:

Bushido (2-piece) → 35 health on kills.

New Iron Banner set (2-piece) → 30 health when shields are broken.

Both sets pair perfectly with Devour and Overshields for crazy survivability.

Final Thoughts

Doomfang Pauldrons have always been a fun Titan exotic, but right now they’re the strongest they’ve ever been.

With this build, you’ll get:

Faster Super regen and longer Supers.

Constant Overshields and healing.

Tons of grenade and melee uptime.

This setup dominates in any PvE content—including GMs and Ultimate-level missions—and even works well in Crucible.
