Defeating targets with Void damage has a chance to grant an escalating bonus to damage with Void weapons. Defeating targets with Void melee grants Super energy.

While Sentinel Shield is active, defeating targets with melee attacks recharges Shield Throw, which extends your Super on hitting a target.

How It Works

With the latest update from Bungie, roaming Supers have received a boost in both damage and charge time, significantly improving the performance of several Exotic items. One Exotic that has seen a remarkable improvement is the Doomfang Pauldrons.

Equipped with the Horns of Doom intrinsic trait, this Exotic offers multiple advantages for both Prismatic and Void subclasses. However, to fully capitalize on the recent buff to roaming Supers, we will focus on the Void subclass.

After landing rapid final blows with any Void ability or weapon, you'll trigger an 11-second buff that grants you a Void Weapon Surge. This starts as a 1x surge, but by securing additional final blows, it can reach up to a 4x surge, boosting Void weapon damage by 25%. This surge stacks with Radiance when using the Prismatic subclass but doesn’t stack with other weapon surge armor mods.

Once the Weapon Surge is active, every final blow refreshes the timer, making it easier to maintain the maximum surge. Additionally, defeating an enemy with a powered melee instantly triggers the 4x surge, ensuring continuous bonus weapon damage as long as you're engaged in combat.

With Prismatic subclasses offering Transcendence, which allows you to spam your melee and grenade abilities, you’ll have even more chances to trigger the maximum weapon surge, along with the benefits of Radiance.

Another major benefit of the Doomfang Pauldrons is the 20% increase in Super energy granted upon landing a powered melee final blow. This can be used to accelerate the charge time of Supers like Glacial Quake, Twilight Arsenal, Hammers, Bladefury, or Thundercrash, and when paired with the Void subclass, it can also boost the charge time of Ward of Dawn, providing your team with Weapons of Light and Refuge.

Due to the third benefit of this Exotic, using the Sentinel Shield Super becomes incredibly advantageous. When Sentinel Shield is activated, your shield throws regenerate 10% Super energy with each hit, potentially extending the uptime of your Super to over 30 seconds, which translates to significant damage. In recent tests against the Ogre boss in Grasp of Avarice, Sentinel Shield with Doomfang dealt 1.8 million points of damage in about 16 seconds, compared to the base 1.3 million without it.

Given its increased uptime and consistent weapon damage bonus, the Doomfang Pauldrons have become one of the most powerful and versatile Exotics for Titans, particularly with the Void subclass. Now, let's go over the best way to build around this Exotic.

I'll include DIM and Mobalytics links for both Void and Prismatic variants in the description. However, to keep today's video focused, we’ll concentrate on the synergy between Doomfang Pauldrons and the Void subclass.

For Aspects, we’ll use Controlled Demolition and Offensive Bullwark. Controlled Demolition causes enemies to become volatile when hit by any Void ability. When volatile enemies die, you and nearby teammates will gain 90 health, improving both survivability and crowd control. Offensive Bullwark grants a second shield throw when in Sentinel Shield Super, plus a 100% bonus to melee damage and a 400% bonus to grenade regeneration when you have an overshield active.

With each shield throw granting a 15-point overshield, and defeating enemies with your melee providing 10 additional points, you’ll have substantial damage resistance thanks to Offensive Bullwark. Combined with Controlled Demolition, you'll be nearly indestructible.

You can further extend your damage resistance with Void weapons that come with Repulsor Brace, which will generate additional Void overshields. For Fragments, we’re using Echo of Reprisal to boost Super energy gains when surrounded by enemies, Echo of Harvest to generate orbs and Void breaches when defeating weakened enemies, and Echo of Undermining to weaken enemies with grenades. However, with the new artifact mods, there are multiple ways to apply weakening effects, so Echo of Undermining is optional, but it provides consistency.

Void breaches offer a 12.5% bonus to class ability regeneration, meaning your barricade will return much faster. Collecting orbs will also trigger Echo of Starvation, granting Devour. This ensures a constant supply of grenades and reliable health regeneration.

In terms of artifact mods, we’re using Concussive Reload, Super Nova, and Debilitating Wave for multiple ways to trigger weakening effects. With Debilitating Wave from finishers, we’ve paired it with Total Carnage for extra damage resistance after finishing an enemy. To further improve the uptime of your shield throw, we have the Served Cold mod, which provides melee energy in addition to class ability energy from Void breaches.

The Authorized Melee mod allows us to stack melee-centric armor mods, lowering the cost of Melee Kickstart to just 1. By stacking multiple Kickstart mods, and using Harmonic Siphon, Reaper, and Heavy Handed, we can drastically increase the uptime of our shield throw, allowing us to trigger that 4x weapon surge more frequently.

Other useful mods include Hands On and Ashes to Assets, which help generate more Super energy from defeating enemies with grenades or powered melee. Outreach and Invigoration offer extra melee energy.

When everything comes together, this build provides constant overshields, weakening debuffs, bonus ability energy, weapon damage, Super damage, and Super regeneration, making Doomfang Pauldrons one of the most dominant Exotics for Titans right now in Revenant.

If you haven’t tried this amazing Exotic yet, now’s the time to give it a shot. Let me know your thoughts and whether you prefer it with Void or Prismatic subclasses!
