Build Details
This week’s update brought some exciting ability changes to Destiny 2, especially for Stasis Titans — and these updates have completely changed how powerful this subclass can be.
All of the Titan Stasis aspects got adjustments, and the biggest winner by far is Howl of the Storm. But before we dive into that, here are the key ability updates:
Shiver Strike now gives you more melee energy when you miss a target.
Unpowered melee attacks now deal 20% more damage.
These may sound small, but when you combine them with our Stasis aspects and fragments, Titans have officially entered a new age of Stasis dominance.
🔷 Howl of the Storm Rework
This aspect now gives you two melee charges. Once you build up momentum, you can slide and activate your melee, consuming a Shiver Strike charge to perform a powerful Stasis uppercut.
This uppercut sends out a wave of Stasis crystals that instantly freeze any enemies they touch.
Before, this ability dropped 4 uneven crystals in front of you. Now, it lays them down like a Wave Frame grenade launcher, dropping 8 total crystals, all the same size.
That means way more freezing and tons of opportunities to cause Shatter damage, which can melt groups of enemies or even bosses if used correctly.
The only drawback is that the crystals don’t spawn well if you use the ability near stairs or elevated platforms — something Bungie may need to fix later.
❄️ Bonus Power with Glacial Quake
You can also perform this new uppercut while your Glacial Quake Super is active. It costs the same energy as a light attack and hits even harder.
Now combine this with the Tectonic Harvest aspect, which creates Stasis shards every time you shatter crystals or frozen enemies. These shards:
Heal you for up to 30 HP (depending on the crystal size),
Give you stacks of Frost Armor, which provides damage resistance,
And restore 10% melee energy per shard — with no cooldown anymore!
At 5 stacks of Frost Armor, you get 31% damage resistance, but with our fragments, we can push that up to 8 stacks — giving us the max 50% damage resistance. That’s a huge defensive boost.
💪 Exotic Armor Synergy
You’ve got several exotic options here, like Icefall Mantle, Heart of Inmost Light, or Precious Scars. But to take full advantage of the new melee buffs, Synthoceps is the way to go.
When surrounded by 3 or more enemies, Synthoceps activates Biotic Enhancements, giving:
50% more Super damage, and
165% more melee damage.
That makes your Shiver Strike, unpowered melee, and especially your Howl of the Storm uppercut hit insanely hard.
⚙️ Stats and Mods
To get the most out of this build, focus your stats on Melee and Super.
With 200 Melee stat, your Shiver Strike and uppercut deal 30% more damage.
With 200 Super stat, Glacial Quake deals 45% more damage, which also boosts your uppercut while the Super is active.
Now let’s add Shield Crush, a new artifact mod. When Frost Armor is active, Shield Crush gives your melee 50% more damage, and that bonus even carries over to your Super.
If you use Stasis weapons and the Fever and Chill mod, you’ll have another reliable way to keep Frost Armor active at all times.
With both stats over 100, you’ll also get 190% faster Super and Melee regeneration, meaning you’ll almost always have your abilities ready.
If your stats are lower, you can use Font of Focus and Font of Might mods for an extra +20 to +50 in those areas while Armor Charge is active. You can keep your Armor Charges up easily using mods like Reaper, Harmonic Siphon, and Whisper of Bonds to make plenty of Orbs of Power.
🔹 Fragment Setup
Here’s the ideal fragment combo for this build:
Whisper of Hunger – Increases melee energy gained from shards (up to 17.5% from small shards and 75% from large ones).
Whisper of Fissures – Increases shatter explosion radius and damage by 25%, letting you freeze and break more enemies at once.
Whisper of Rime – Extends Frost Armor duration to 13 seconds and helps you reach the full 8-stack resistance cap.
Whisper of Conduction – Pulls nearby shards toward you automatically and increases your Super stat, making it easier to hit 200.
🔫 Weapon Choices
For weapons, you’ll want Stasis guns with perks like:
Headstone
Chill Clip
Crystalline Coronabloom
These will help you make even more crystals and take advantage of your aspects.
For exotics, great options include:
Wicked Implement
Ager’s Scepter
Salvation’s Grip
If you want to maximize boss damage, pair this build with Tractor Cannon to apply a Weaken debuff, or Finality’s Auger, which lets you drop a turret before going in with your uppercut.
If you use Cauterized Darkness, your Solar weapons will also deal 30% more damage to slowed or frozen enemies — including bosses.
❄️ Final Thoughts
No matter what weapons you pick, this build is pure chaos. You’ll be sliding in, freezing enemies, and shattering everything around you like a walking avalanche.
So if you’ve been sleeping on Stasis Titan — it’s time to bring it back. Because with the new Howl of the Storm rework, this build is absolutely incredible.
Step 1: Throw Grenade Step 2: Slide and Uppercut Step 3: Follow up with Weapons (Destroy Stasis Crystals) Step 4: Collect Shards Step 5: Perform Uppercut Step 6: Break Crystals and Do it Again! Step 7: Pop Super Freely!
