Today, we’re diving into a potent new Titan build tailored for close-quarters combat.
This setup is perfect for soloing nearly any activity or tackling team-based content with ease.
The build centers around two highly underrated Exotics: No Backup Plans and the Slayer’s Fang Void shotgun.
Together, these Exotics transform you into an unstoppable tank, capable of withstanding incredible punishment while dishing out devastating attacks.
No Backup Plans Overview The Force Multiplier intrinsic perk on No Backup Plans offers several critical benefits when using special or heavy shotguns:
A passive boost of +30 to reload speed and airborne effectiveness for shotguns. When a Void subclass is equipped, landing consecutive final blows grants a Void Overshield worth 45 HP and provides 70% damage resistance. Activate this by defeating two minor enemies or one high-value target. While the Void Overshield is active:
Shotguns gain a 35% bonus to damage, which stacks with surges, Radiance, and weapon perks. Each shotgun final blow refreshes the Overshield duration and triggers instant health regeneration, dramatically enhancing survivability in close-range combat. Maintaining the Void Overshield is key to maximizing damage output, making No Backup Plans invaluable for this build.
Slayer’s Fang Synergy The Slayer’s Fang shotgun, equipped with the Repulsor Brace Catalyst Refit, complements this strategy perfectly:
Defeating enemies affected by Void debuffs (e.g., Volatile, Suppression, or Weaken) grants a Void Overshield. Its Nightsworn Sight buff enables the shotgun’s submunitions to weaken multiple targets, making it effective against groups and high-value enemies. With a 15% bonus to precision damage when Nightsworn Sight is active, this weapon becomes even deadlier. Combining these perks with the 35% shotgun damage boost from No Backup Plans results in unparalleled destructive power, capable of melting almost any foe.
Additionally, the Slayer’s Fang can stun Overload Champions, making it viable for endgame PvE content.
Subclass Setup To optimize this build, we’re using the Prismatic subclass for easy access to Radiance and Overshields. While some might prefer a setup with Consecration and Frenzied Blades, this build focuses on a combination of Knockout, Diamond Lance, and Shield Throw.
Shield Throw:
Provides a consistent source of Void Overshields, allowing you to enter engagements with enhanced durability. Diamond Lance:
Generates routine crowd control through freezing and slowing enemies, aiding in managing Overload and Unstoppable Champions. Can also create Frost Armor for added team survivability. Prismatic Fragments This build leverages key Prismatic fragments to enhance performance:
Facet of Dawn: Activates Radiance with Shield Throws or Consecration, granting a 25% weapon damage boost and enabling weapons to pierce Barrier Champion shields. Facet of Courage: Increases damage by 10% against enemies affected by Darkness debuffs (Suspended, Slowed, Frozen, or Severed). Facet of Protection: Provides 15% damage resistance when surrounded by enemies, increased to 32% when casting Transcendency. Facet of Purpose: Grants a Void Overshield upon orb collection, significantly boosting Overshield uptime for sustained shotgun damage. Optional Final Fragment: Facet of Balance for improved ability uptime. Facet of Command to auto-reload weapons when freezing or suppressing enemies. Facet of Bravery to apply Volatile rounds, synergizing with Repulsor Brace for explosive crowd control. This aggressive, close-quarters build excels in Crucible, Gambit, and PvE endgame activities. By maintaining Overshields and leveraging shotgun perks, you’ll dominate every encounter with unmatched survivability and damage potential.
Step 1: Use Shield Throw to trigger Radiance/Overshield Step 2: Throw Shackle Grenade to Suspend Enemies. Step 3: Follow up with Shotguns Step 4: Use Diamond Lances as available. Step 5: Use Shield Throw when ready. Step 6. Activate Transcendency when available (spam abilities while using shotguns) Step 7: Cast Twilight Arsenal against High Value Targets/ Bosses. Step 8: Finish Enemies for Extra Special Ammo. Step 9: Always be collecting Orbs!
