How It Works

In the latest update featuring the new Revenant episode, several Exotics received significant upgrades, introducing new perks and abilities to enhance their viability in the current sandbox.

Today, we're diving into an exciting new build centered around one of these Exotics: the Raiju’s Harness.

This Exotic has undergone a complete revamp of its Mobius Conduit intrinsic trait, as many of its previous benefits have now been transferred to the Blight Ranger. The enhanced Raiju’s Harness allows for a build that prioritizes ability spam by providing bonus Super energy for defeating jolted enemies.

However, this only applies when using Gathering Storm, so we’ll need to equip this Exotic with the standard Arcstrider subclass. Each jolted enemy you defeat grants approximately 2% additional Super energy, meaning the more you spread Jolt, the faster you’ll recharge your Super. With a dense population of foes, you can have Gathering Storm back in under 30 seconds, letting you unleash your Super more frequently—not just during damage phases but also while clearing out large groups.

Another fantastic benefit of Raiju’s Harness is that casting Gathering Storm sends out a massive surge of lightning, jolting nearby enemies and amplifying you and your allies in the process. This surge extends about 7 meters, so you can aim Gathering Storm at a distant target and still deal significant damage to foes right next to you.

Enemies defeated by Gathering Storm or the lightning surge contribute to the bonus Super energy, significantly reducing recharge time when facing heavy waves of enemies.

One of the standout features of this build is its exceptional crowd control, allowing you to effectively deny areas using both close-range damage and Gathering Storm to lock down enemies from multiple positions.

In a recent damage test against the Grasp of Avarice Ogre boss, standard Gathering Storm dealt over 400k damage. While Star-Eaters Scale can hit up to 700k at maximum charge, Raiju’s Harness comes in with a solid 500k, designed to shine against groups rather than single targets.

So, what’s the best way to maximize Super and ability uptime with Raiju’s Harness? Let’s start with weapon choice.

Since jolting enemies grants bonus Super energy, it's crucial to use weapons that provide jolting feedback or Voltshot. Some of my go-to weapons for this build include the Ikelos SMG, the Indebted Kindness rocket sidearm, the Tarnished Mettle scout rifle, and the Hullabaloo and Bitter/Sweet grenade launchers.

Exotic weapons can also synergize beautifully with Raiju’s Harness. Consider options like Trinity Ghoul, Riskrunner, Cloudstrike, or Thunderlord.

Thanks to new artifact mods like Concusive Reload and Kinetic Impacts, Anarchy has seen improved performance, enhancing our area denial capabilities—ideal for activities like Onslaught.

To further boost our Super energy, we can use the Bad Juju kinetic pulse rifle, which also grants bonus Super energy upon defeating enemies. With our build setup, we’re fully equipped to spread plenty of Jolt, allowing for flexibility even with a non-Arc primary if it helps us recharge our Super faster.

We previously mentioned a couple of artifact mods, but there are additional ones that will benefit us. Retinal Burn consumes armor charges to create blinding explosions with consecutive precision hits from any Arc weapon, stunning unstoppable champions and improving our crowd control.

Debilitating Wave will generate a wave of Arc energy that blinds enemies when we perform finishers, and this wave extends to about the same distance as a wave-frame grenade launcher, allowing us to hit multiple foes at once.

Lastly, we have Trace Evidence, which improves the uptime of our melee, grenade, and class ability energies. Defeating jolted or blinded enemies generates Ionic Traces, adding more ability energy and helping recharge our Supers even faster.

Now, let’s take a closer look at our Arcstrider subclass. We’re using Lethal Current and Flow State for our aspects, along with Combination Blow as our melee option. Together, they allow us to jolt and blind enemies, provide health regeneration, and increase melee damage and class ability energy, ensuring smooth gameplay.

While I’ve noticed this build struggles in tougher content due to relying solely on melee for health regeneration, it excels in legendary lost sectors, nightfalls, and even Onslaught—even at levels significantly under the recommended light.

Interestingly, this build feels stronger when running solo, as you don’t have to compete with teammates for kills.

For our fragments, we’re using Spark of Shock, which allows our grenades to jolt enemies, and Spark of Protection for increased damage resistance when surrounded. To boost our melee damage, we’ve equipped Spark of Feedback, giving us a 75% increase when hit by enemy melee attacks. Finally, Spark of Ions generates Ionic Traces when defeating jolted enemies.

With a 7-second cooldown, this benefit operates on a different timer than the one provided by the Trace Evidence artifact mod.

With our class tree, artifacts, and weapons covered, let’s talk about armor mods.

We’re using several mods that enhance our Gathering Storm energy regeneration, including Heavy Handed, Firepower, Reaper, and Helmet Siphon, creating orbs of power to help build up our Super energy.

Additionally, Hands-On and Ashes to Assets grant bonus Super energy for defeating enemies with grenades and melees.

With orbs of power triggering armor charges, we’ve opted for weapon surge mods, gaining a 10% damage increase with one and 17% with two. I recommend limiting yourself to two surge mods to also use a Recuperation mod on your boots, generating bonus health when collecting orbs.

With all the bonus energy generated from our Arcstrider abilities, armor, and Raiju’s Harness, we’ll be unleashing a constant barrage of lightning across the battlefield, making this an incredibly powerful ad-clear build for Hunters in Revenant.
