In one of the most significant updates since Deadlock was announced, Valve is adding 6 new heroes to the ever-growing Deadlock roster, with these heroes becoming playable very soon.
The newest heroes are called:
- Mina
- Billy
- Paige
- The Doorman
- Victor
- Drifter
Instead of releasing them all at once, Valve is releasing each hero at different times (more information can be found at the end of this post).
Alongside the new hero changes, there are a few other changes, such as many map visual updates, a new character select screen, and much more!
The Hideout
The Hideout is a new area you can play around in while you wait for a match. You can join or invite friends to play around in there, too. You are able to interact with things inside the area, such as terminals, where you’ll be able to play, watch and learn.
The Hideout also has a practice range where you can try out abilities, test movements and more. This is pretty cool, as you will no longer need to load up the Sandbox mode to test anything out.
Map Update
There have been visual improvements and lighting changes to the map. Valve has noted that there will be more map improvements and changes coming soon.
Character Select Screen
The character selection screen has received a big overhaul, and many heroes have had extensive visual updates. Expect to see more changes in the future, too.
Hero Voting
On Monday, the 17th of August, Mina will be released, and every 2 days, there will be a new champion for the next 2 weeks. This is Monday, Wednesday and Friday this and next week.
You’ll be able to vote for what hero you want to see next by playing a game. On the end screen, you’ll have the option to choose any of the remaining heroes to be added to the roster.
Mina: Hero Spotlight
Mina is a glass cannon that deals quick bursts of spirit damage at range. She can transform into bats and escape sticky situations. Every time you activate her Passive: Love Bites, her vampiric powers grow stronger. Her Ultimate unleashes a massive swarm of bats that hunt down and silence enemies.
