Skye – Valorant Agent Guide

Valorant Character – Skye Overview

Skye is the 13th Valorant agent and will be officially added to the roster two weeks after Act III begins.

She’ll be representing Australia as her country of origin and she’ll be the third Initiator (the other two are Breach and Sova).

Her ability kit revolves around animal-based trinkets with a wide range of uses including healing, flashing, and seeking enemies.

With such a diverse kit, she looks like a versatile option that will fit into many types of team compositions.

Skye’s Abilities

To see all of Syke’s abilities in action, both from her POV and the POV of an enemy agent, check out this video by Riot!

Regrowth (C – 200 credits, one charge)

EQUIP a healing trinket. HOLD FIRE to channel, healing allies in range and line of sight. Can be reused until her healing pool is depleted. Skye cannot heal herself.

It looks like Riot is really leaning away from self-healing for agents that can heal their team (as indicated by Sage’s Heal Orb nerfs) and seems to be reserving the mechanic for Duelists like Reyna and Phoenix.

Based on the footage we’ve seen so far, it appears that her healing pool’s depletion rate will be consistent whether she’s healing one ally or multiple, so look to get more value by healing as many allies as you can at once.

Trailblazer (Q – 200 credits, one charge)

EQUIP a Tasmanian tiger trinket. FIRE to send out and take control of the predator. While in control, FIRE to leap forward, exploding in a concussive blast and damaging directly hit enemies

This works similarly to Sova’s Owl since Skye enters a first-person POV to control the tiger and can be destroyed by enemies. Upon impact, it stuns enemies in a similar fashion as Breach’s

It’ll be very useful for gathering information, engaging, and may even be able to net Skye some kills depending on its damage output.

Guiding Light (E – 100 credits, up to three charges)

EQUIP a hawk trinket. FIRE to send it forward. HOLD FIRE to guide the hawk in the direction of your crosshair. RE-USE while the hawk is in flight to transform it into a flash.

Breach was recently buffed to having three flashes so this puts Skye on par with three charges. Her hawk has a unique niche that allows Skye and her team to potentially follow behind it (they’ll have to turn away to avoid getting blinded of course), opening up some new initiation options.

They are destructible so they can also be used to gain info since you can bait enemies into shooting it before the flash goes off.

Seekers (X – 7 orb points)

EQUIP a Seeker trinket. FIRE to send out three Seekers to track down the three closest enemies. If a Seeker reaches its target, it nearsights them.

This ultimate looks like it will be a great tool for initiating an attack on a site or tracking down hidden lurkers and flankers.

The Seekers are destructible but we still aren’t sure just how large its range really is.

If you don’t remember how nearsight works, it’s the same effect that is given to agents hit by Omen‘s Paranoia.

Skye’s Potential Team Comps

For competitive play, Cypher, Omen, and Sova are almost considerable must-picks.

Next to these 3, you usually run Breach and Jett. Breach being an Initiator and having a similar role, is more likely to be replaced by Skye.

Running Skye instead of Breach is still a downgrade in terms of flashes but the healing could really make up for it.

Because of these factors, here is the lineup you’ll most likely see Skye in:

  1. Skye
  2. Smoker
  3. Sentinel
  4. Duelist
  5. Initiator

When you plug in agents, an example would be:

  1. Skye
  2. Cypher
  3. Omen
  4. Sova
  5. Jett or Raze
