Rise of the Underworlds LoR Card Impressions: Shurima (Xer’Sai Caller, Careful Preparation, and More)

Day 2 of Rise of the Underworlds Card Reveals

Hey, NicMakesPlays here, and today I’m going to go over today’s reveals! These cards add a ton of utility to the Lurker and Predict archetypes.

We’re revealing new Rise of the Underworld cards every day on our spoiler page.

Here are the new LoR cards for Shurima from the Rise of the Underworld expansion:

  • Xer’Sai Caller (follower)
  • Feral Prescience (spell)
  • Careful Preparation (spell)
  • Xer’Sai Dunebreaker (follower)

Xer’Sai Caller

Xer'sai Caller (LoR Card)

  • Xer’Sai Caller
    • 3 mana 2|3 follower, Lurk
    • Text: Play: Predict

Xer’Sai Caller is perfect for the Lurker archetype. Not only is Xer’Sai Caller a lurker itself so it can raise the odds of triggering Lurkers as well as gaining +1|+0 when lurk is activated, but it can put a Lurker on top of your deck.

This adds a ton of consistency for the Lurker archetype and will likely be a staple as a 3 of in the deck.

Feral Prescience

Feral Prescience (LoR Card)

  • Feral Prescience
    • 0 mana Burst spell
    • Text: Predict

Feral Prescience is a unique card for many reasons. First off, it’s one of the few cards in the game that costs 0.

Although a -1 in terms of card advantage, it allows you to choose what you draw next turn for 0 mana.

This is particularly strong in the Lurker archetype by ensuring you have a Lurker on top of your deck.

Careful Preparation

Careful Preparation (LoR Card)

  • Careful Preparation
    • 3 mana Burst spell
    • Text: To Play, place a card from your hand into your deck. Predict, then create an exact copy of the chosen card in hand.

Careful Preparation is a unique card as well which allows you to essentially pick from 3 cards to add to your hand.

You put a card on top of your deck, Predict 3 then add the predicted card to your hand.

This can allow you to “search” for cards from a pool of 3 which is nice in the late game when you have the mana to spend.

You can more reliably see high-impact cards on the turn you need them. In a deck with Khariri the Returned, it could also be nice to put him back in your deck to have the chance to Predict him again.

Xer’Sai Dunebreaker

Xer'sai Dunebreaker (LoR Card)

  • Xer’Sai Dunebreaker
    • 6 mana 3|6 follower, Overwhelm and Lurk

Xer’Sai Dunebreaker is the highest-cost Lurker card we’ve seen so far. Overwhelm paired with Lurker is a powerful combo since the attack grant from Lurk can be pretty huge by turn 6+.

This card is likely meant to be a finisher in the Lurker archetype or to pack in big damage.

Xer’Sai Dunebreaker also has a huge health stat so even if it’s Hushed for a turn it is likely to survive and be able to attack again.

Potential Deck

Although they haven’t been revealed yet, Rek’Sai/Pyke will probably have the potential to be the Champions of the Lurker archetype with a Shurima/Bilgewater combination.

As of right now, the only Lurker cards are in these two regions so they sound like they would be paired together. Lurkers are already seen to have a ton of consistency through Predict, which allows you to see these Champions more often as well.

Depending on how good these Champions are these archetypes could be very potent!
